Situated between the Mong Kok Police Station and the Hong Kong Bird Market lies the floral epicenter of Hong Kong:  the Mong Kok Flower Market. This slice of heaven on earth is a flower and garden-lover’s paradise. One can find garden supplies, bulbs, and seeds, but the main feature is the incredible selection of plants and flowers.

Sample fake food and beverages, or sampuru, are seen all around Japan. They are a safe way for restaurants, department stores, and snack shops to showcase their culinary offerings without the items being affected by temperature, light or age. Sample foods are also a great way for non-Japanese speakers to view and order foods which they may otherwise not be able to.  The sample food industry in Japan is huge, worth over 90 million USD. As a unique part of Japanese culture, I explored this industry by making a sample myself.

  After several non-stop days rushing around on the Yamanote Line, absorbing Tokyo’s frenetic energy, I was off to the countryside to detox and absorb some Japanese serenity. Mt. Fuji’s Lake Kawaguchiko was my destination.  Lake Kawaguchiko is one of the Fuji Five Lakes and a popular tourist destination for its proximity to Mt. Fuji and its being a hot springs mecca.  And I wanted both.

Annually from late November through December, holiday aficionados and those seeking winter fun descend on Nuremberg to delight in German Christmas wonders. RudiGourmand visited this festive market, and couldn’t have been more pleased with all that Nuremberg had to offer.
